ASPC 2025 Congress on CVD Prevention

The 2025 ASPC Abstract Committee invites the submission of abstracts to be presented at the 2025 ASPC Annual Congress on Cardiovascular Disease Prevention taking place August 1-3, 2025 at the Omni Hotel at the Seaport in Boston, MA. Submitted abstracts will be considered for the poster hall and accepted abstracts that present at ASPC 2025 will be published in the American Journal of Preventive Cardiology*.

  Authors that are not registered by June 13th may not be eligible to present their abstract in person in Boston. Any accepted abstract that is not presented in person in Boston (main stage, oral, or poster) will not be eligible for publication in the American Journal of Preventive Cardiology. 

Awards

ASPC Early Career Awards

Early Career (in training students, residents, and fellows or members in practice for <5 years) authors will have the chance to compete for the ASPC's Early Career Research Award. Cash prizes of $750, $500, and $250 will be presented to the top 3 Early Career Research Award authors who will present their research during the Early Career Abstract Session at the 2025 Annual Congress on CVD Prevention. Presenting Authors eligible for the Early Career Award must upload a CV with their submission.

The Roger S. Blumenthal Travel Award for Early Career Abstract Research Award Winner

This Award will provide the 1st place Early Career Research Abstract Award Winner with a cash reimbursement of travel and registration expenses to present on stage at the ASPC 2025 Congress on CVD Prevention. The Roger S. Blumenthal Travel Award is named in honor of Dr. Roger Blumenthal, MD, FASPC, the Kenneth Jay Pollin Professor of Cardiology, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Center of the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease in Baltimore, Maryland.

Oral Poster Presentation Awards

A select number of top scoring abstracts will also be invited to present a short oral presentation in the Poster Hall during designated General Session breaks. These presentations will be graded and awarded on-site. 

Presentation Methods

All accepted abstracts not selected for the Early Career Abstract Award competition, or an Oral Poster Presentation, must display their abstract in the Poster Hall to be considered for publication for the AJPC annual abstract supplement.

Poster production and display is the responsibility of the Author(s). Posters much be no larger than 8' wide x 4' high. Accepted authors must be registered for the 2025 ASPC Congress on CVD Prevention by June 13, 2025 to secure their space in the Poster Hall.

Authors that will be presenting their research on the main stage during the Early Career Abstract Award competition or during an Oral Poster Session are not required to print and hang a poster. 

Abstract Submission Instructions

Please read through the submission instructions below before preparing your abstract:

1. Read the General Information and Policies listed below for the submission of an abstract.
2. Download and complete a 2025 Abstract Submission Template -  SCIENTIFIC or CASE REPORT - to upload during your submission. 
3. Write your abstract, following the Abstract Content Guidelines and following the format laid out within the selected template.
4. Review the Acceptance and Presentation Process for abstracts.
5. Submit your abstract through the Online Abstract Submission Form - this is an online submission form that will require you to upload your Abstract using one of the Submission Templates - SCIENTIFIC or CASE REPORT.
6. Register to attend the 2025 Congress on Cardiovascular Disease Prevention by June 13, 2025.

General Information and Policies

• Please only submit FINAL abstracts. Draft abstracts will NOT be considered. Take note of any deadlines under the appropriate call for abstracts and be sure to complete the process before that date.
• To submit an abstract, all the authors involved in the abstract must approve the final version. In addition, each author listed in your submission should have made a substantial contribution to it, such as 1) contributing to the conception and design of the study and the acquisition of data; 2) analysis and interpretation of the data; and/or 3) drafting the poster and/or revising it critically for important intellectual content. Full disclosures must be provided for each author during the submission process. These requirements are taken seriously by ASPC and any failure to fully comply with these requirements may result in an abstract being withdrawn from the ASPC abstracts program.
• It is the responsibility of the lead author to ensure that the abstract is submitted correctly utilizing the appropriate Abstract Submission Template via the Online Submission Portal. 
• Faxed, emailed or mailed hard-copy abstracts or abstracts sent on a CD/disc WILL NOT be accepted. If you are unable to submit via the website, please contact the ASPC Office.
• One of the lead abstract authors are required to register for the 2025 Annual Congress on Cardiovascular Disease Prevention no later than June 13, 2025 to ensure his or her abstract is included at the Conference.

Abstract Guidelines

Content Guidelines

Abstracts must be accepted electronically and must adhere to the following guidelines:

• Abstracts are limited to 350 words. (Word count excludes the abstract title, author names, and affiliations.) Please include all authors names, credentials and affiliations.
• Abstracts must be divided into sections: Title, Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion that states the importance and potential implications of the observations.
• Abstracts must be proofread carefully to avoid errors before submission.
• Abstracts must contain generic drug names only.
• Abstracts must be submitted in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication.
• All authors must disclose all relevant financial relationships.
• Any funding support for the research must be disclosed.
• The main research findings should not have been presented at another major scientific meeting prior to presentation at the ASPC Sessions.

Checklist

The purpose of the abstract is to define the precise subject of the presentation to an audience. Below you will find a checklist for abstract preparation. All abstracts are considered equally for selection, and the quality of the abstract is the single most important factor in the Committee's decision.

Utilizing the 2025 Abstract Submission Templates, please include the following information:

• Title
• Background - A concise description of your subject matter and prior work in this area.
• Methods - The experimental design or technique employed.
• Results - Outcomes & measurements, with statistical significance, if appropriate
• Conclusion - Conclusions, clinical pertinence, and value or for Workshops and Presentations, the prevailing point of view.
• Tables and Figures - Upload a table or figure that show results related to your research.

Acceptance and Presentation Process

Abstract grading is blinded, and abstracts are pre-screened and selected by ASPC judges based on quality and merit. You will be notified no later than May 15, 2025 if your poster is accepted. All accepted abstract authors are required to register for the 2025 Annual Congress on Cardiovascular Disease Prevention August 1-3, 2025.

1. How do I register for the Congress?

To register for the Congress, use the 'Register Now' button on the top right of this screen, or go to the 'Tickets' tab and select the type of registration that you prefer. You will need to provide your personal details, select your registration type (e.g., attendee, student, exhibitor), and submit payment (if applicable).

2. Can I register on-site at the Congress?

On-site registration will be available, but we highly recommend registering in advance to guarantee your spot, access the discounted Congress Hotel Room Block, and avoid long wait times on site.

3. What types of registration are available?

We offer the following registration types:

• General Admission Member: $695.00
• General Admission Non-Member: $995.00
• Student Member: $185.00
  Discounted rate for full-time students. Active Student membership required.
• FASPC Member: $0.00

4. What does my registration fee include?

Your registration fee includes access to all scientific sessions, social events, expert theaters, symposia, and networking opportunities, as well as breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks on event days.

5. How can I pay for my registration?

We accept payment by credit card, bank transfer, and other payment methods (if available). Detailed instructions will be provided during the registration process.

6. Can I update my registration details after I’ve submitted it?

Yes, you can update your registration details by logging into your registration account. If you need to make changes to your payment or registration type, please contact our team at contact@aspconline.org. 

7. What if I need to cancel or transfer my registration?

You may cancel or transfer your Event Registration without penalty if your cancellation request is received up to and including 10 days prior to the start of the conference. For Event cancellation or transfers within 10 days of the Event, please e-mail contact@aspconline.org.

8. Is there a discounted rate for groups?

No, we do not offer group discounts. 

9. How do I access the Congress program?

The ASPC Congress on CVD Prevention is only available for in-person attendance. The meeting is located at the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport. 

10. Is there a mobile app for the Congress?

Yes! A digital conference guide will be available for all Congress attendees, offering easy access to the event schedule, speaker information, venue maps, and networking opportunities. Details on how to access the digital conference guide will be emailed to registered attendees the week prior to the Congress. 

11. Will there be a virtual option to attend the Congress?

No, a virtual option will not be available for those who cannot attend in person.

12. Are the presentations recorded?

Select lectures will be available to ASPC members on the website after the live event.

13. How can I claim CE Credit?

Post program, registered attendees will receive a link to claim CE credit directly from Partners for Advancing Clinical Education.

14. What is the dress code for the Congress?

The dress code is business casual. We recommend comfortable attire, especially if you plan to attend multiple sessions throughout the day.

15. Are there any special accommodations available?

The Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is ADA-compliant.
