Professional Bio
From Fall 2016 to 2019, Dr. Asamoah developed and implemented the Pre-Nursing Summer Workshop, which aimed to equip incoming nursing students for their academic journey. Her primary objective is to establish a solid foundation in both theoretical and clinical education, ensuring that students evolve into safe and effective critical thinkers at the bedside. Dr. Asamoah also provides extensive academic and professional support to graduate students, guiding them through their pursuit of a Master of Science in Nursing degree.
Dr. Asamoah has valuable clinical experience at Prince George’s Community Hospital, where she managed the post-operative care of heart and vascular surgical patients. Her clinical responsibilities included cardiac monitoring, patient assessments, specimen collection, and collaborative care planning.
Dr. Asamoah's research primarily focuses on cardiovascular health and heart failure patients. She has made significant contributions through published studies and presentations at prestigious medical associations.
Additionally, Dr. Asamoah has been recognized as an All of Us Researcher Academy Institutional Champion within the NIH All of Us Research Program. She actively participates in the All of Us Evenings with Genetics Research Program at the Baylor College of Medicine's Department of Molecular & Human Genetics. Her research also addresses ethnic disparities in cardiovascular health, tackling critical health issues faced by diverse populations.
