Professional Bio

Ty J. Gluckman, MD, FACC, FAHA is Medical Director of the Center for Cardiovascular Analytics, Research, and Data Science (CARDS) at the Providence Heart Institute in Portland, Oregon and an adjunct faculty member of the Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Gluckman’s principal clinical interests include identifying, coordinating, and implementing cardiovascular care improvement strategies. He has authored or co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed scientific articles, reviews, and book chapters. His work has been published in several high-impact journals including JACC, Circulation, JAMA, JAMA Cardiology, JAHA, and the Archives of Internal Medicine.

He serves as Associate Editor for Practice Guidelines and Clinical Documents for ACC.org, the primary web site for the American College of Cardiology (ACC). He also serves chair of the ACC Solution Set Oversight Committee. He is an active councilor and Governor-Elect for the Oregon Chapter of the ACC. He previously served as National Clinical Quality Expert for the ACC Patient Navigator Program and currently serves as National Chair of the ACC Patient Navigator Program-Focus MI. Dr. Gluckman was lead developer for the ACC/AHA Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD) Risk Estimator app, selected as the best medical app in 2014 and more recently, helped to design the AnticoagEvaluator, BridgeAnticoag, ASCVD + and LDL-C Manager apps.
